Just when you thought it was all going so well...
Graves Art Gallery Sheffield 2005
................................ The initial idea for the exhibition came from a growing understanding amongst the collaborating artists that we all live in increasingly vulnerable circumstances. Between safety and risk, excitement and chaos, contemporary living surrounds us with uncertainties and ambiguities. In the two gallery installations and the four interventions within the permanent collection galleries, you are invited to contemplate this potential minefield through works which explore spinning plates, surveillance cameras, wind up chicks, arrows of desire and global flooding amongst other themes….

utk is a collective of four artists who have been working together for some years. At first they worked as individuals united by a common theme, but in recent years they have moved from producing separate works shown together to making pieces which claim no individual authorship but are rather credited simply to the collective.

The six works which comprise "Just when you thought it was all going so well..." can be seen by following the links below. The texts are taken from the gallery's labels.
